Bath
The historic Georgian city of Bath is just over 15 miles from The Grove - a journey of between 20-25 minutes by car. Bath is a World Heritage city that boasts some of the finest architecture in the UK overlooking beautiful parks and gardens. It's Roman legacy remains in the form of the ancient baths from which it takes its name. Shopping and restaurants are, like the setting, truly world class.

Wells
The cathedral city of Wells is 6 miles or ten minutes by car from The Grove. Wells is the smallest but one of the most beautiful cities in England. World-renowned for its music, the Cathedral and surrounding mediaeval buildings are truly inspiring - among them, the Vicars Close is the oldest inhabited street in Europe. With markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays and superb restaurants, Wells is the perfect place to walk round, shop, eat and relax.

Cheddar Caves & Gorge
Just 6 miles or ten minutes by car is the famous town of Cheddar (the original birthplace of the eponymous cheese). Famous for the extraordinary Gorge that climbs all the way to the top of the Mendip Hills, the river that formed the cliffs now runs deep below ground. Visitors can travel down into the caves to see where the water now runs or for the more adventurous, potholing and rock climbing activities are readily available.

Chew Valley Lake
Chew Valley Lake has a perimeter of around ten miles and is one of the largest fresh water lakes in the South West. It has world famous fishing and bird-watching as well as an active sailing club. On its shores are the beautiful Chew Valley villages - among them Chew Magna, Chew Stoke and the Harptrees. A variety of excellent pubs in the area also cater for those needing to quench their thirst or quell their hunger after an amazing day's activity.

Wookey Hole
Wookey Hole is around 6 miles or ten minutes from The Grove and is a fantastic experience for all the family. The caves which have been inhabited by man for over 50,000 years extend more than 20 miles into the Mendip hillside - although only the first few can be viewed by the general public. There are a wealth of legends and mysteries that surround the caves that will fascinate even the youngest member of your family.
